Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Logistics Planning Specialist to join our plant team in Anaheim, CA. In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager and be an integral member of the Plant Leadership Team. The individual in this role will plan, coordinate, monitor, and execute plant scheduling, inventory, and logistics operations. This position plans and coordinates the planning and execution of production schedules at the plant while supporting the site’s safety/compliance, cost to serve, inventory, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Partner with corporate Supply Chain/Production Planning team in developing daily and weekly Plant Production Schedules.  
  • Coordinate & communicate the detailed plant schedule (finite 3-day), in both SAP and plant instructions to operations and site personnel.
  • Monitor & manage all railcar activities: tracking, inventory, and logging updates. Review and challenge all demurrage, spotting, and storage charges as appropriate.
  • Monitor and coordinate empty container pick-ups, by-product shipments, and other logistics activities.
  • Manage dry goods warehouse storage locations, spill response equipment, and labeling requirements.
  • Support ISO, RSPO, and other systems audits related to inventory, production, and logistics activities.
  • Participate, promote, and maintain safety culture for all area personnel through scheduling procedures, training support, and performing safety contacts in the plant.  

Qualifications

 

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical/problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Experience with computer systems (ERP, Customer/Supplier portals, WMS); SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Pwerpoint).
  • Demonstrated abilities in time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of sources, including upper management, other departments, external vendors/customers/partners, and operations/operators. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Certification(s) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Distribution, or related areas preferred.

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business field. Will consider candidates with significant relevant work experience in Supply Chain/Logistics field in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. Manufacturing and/or Chemical industries preferred.

 

Pay Range: Min $63,123 - 100,471 Max
