Reliability & Project Engineer

Anaheim, CA, US, 92803

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Promote continuous improvement in plant reliability
  • Apply Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to improve plant performance.
  • Lead maintenance, reliability, and mechanical integrity site assessments
  • Lead and help execute tactical implementation plans that address opportunities discovered in assessment and align with company maintenance, reliability and mechanical integrity strategy.
  • Assist in managing capital projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Together with Project Team, jointly own the overall responsibility to deliver the Project on the schedule, within budget, and with world-class safety performance
  • Participate in HAZOPs, Design & Constructability Reviews
  • Participate in the formulation and development of a cohesive Project Team organization
  • Work with Procurement organization to manage and track all purchases, contracts and invoices
  • Manage, document, and track all Scope Changes
  • Track all financial commitments & expenditures, and develop monthly updates with forecasts
  • Follow Stepan Stage Gated Project Delivery Process for Technical/Stakeholder Reviews and Approvals
  • Integrate Operations team support to produce a design with operability/maintainability/safety in mind

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in reliability and maintenance roles
  • Experience with RCFA, RCM, and modern reliability engineering methodologies, Predictive Maintenance technologies, maintenance work processes and TPM
  • Familiar with SAP PM maintenance management module including experience operating, generation of new PMs, and optimization of existing PMs
  • Strong problem solving, organizational & communication skills (written & oral)
  • Able to collect and interpret needed information
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with people at all levels in the organization
  • Experience in continuous operation chemical manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Must be a “self starter” who is able to recommend correct courses of action to all levels of management
  • Experience in Chemical and related industries is required
  • Ability to function within a project team, prioritizing/delegating work, driving productivity, and proactively overcoming obstacles in a complex project
  • Strong working knowledge of chemical plant operations and processes

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical Engineering is preferred
