Job Description

Maintenance Planner/Scheduler - Team Leader
To provide a cost-effective maintenance and reliability planning and scheduling to ensure Fieldsboro KPI’s targets are achieved through safe, efficient execution of high-quality maintenance activities
To develop and sustain a Best Practice: Work-Flow Process, Maintenance Planning / Scheduling and Critical spare parts inventory for the Fieldsboro site.

Key Elements
Responsible for work permits.
Promote an environment that achieves incident free performance through diligent proactive safety efforts and job safety scheduling.
Maintain compliance with statutory regulations, e.g. lifting, access equipment, ladders, scaffolding, pressure systems, portable electrical tools etc.
Coordinate the planning and scheduling of all PM work with Operations, E&I Shop, MI, outside services, etc.
Coordinate additional labor and materials needed to complete any in-progress work (additional tasks added while work is in progress).
Actively manages the area work order backlog as prioritized by the Operations and Maintenance Engineer ensuring that work orders are being properly reviewed, prioritized and completed timely.
Update/Create any Bench Mark Work Orders as needed, update actual job requirements and labor estimates with feedback from mechanics.
Responsible for all aspects of SAP Maintenance including updating or preparing PM tasks in the system.
Reports and co-owns the overall PM Compliance metrics for the plant.
Review daily priorities and properly communicate issues. 
Initiate corrective action work requests and follow-up action when necessary as a result of maintenance inspections, PMs, or problems found.
Identify and review Job Tasks, Permits, WI’s, Special tools and Equipment, Skill requirements and Materials needed for the work.
Estimate job scope and labour requirements for the work.   
Secure all non-stock materials through warehouse or direct purchase; verify inventoried parts are on hand before scheduling routine work.
Work with Maintenance Team to develop new and update existing PM Masters, Bench Mark Work Orders, and BOM’s. Review and modify these items as necessary to improve efficiencies and optimize resources.
Work with Maintenance Team to update or prepare new BOM’s (Bill of Materials) for the system.
Reviews all Work orders for completeness, code and validate priority.
Facilitates meetings as required for Turnarounds, equipment breakdowns, weekly and daily planning/scheduling of repairs.
Assist in establishing and maintaining maintenance spare parts and critical equipment inventory and 5S program for maintenance warehouse and stockrooms.
•Ensure key stores items are monitored and maintained
Ensures best practice methods are followed for advising of aged stock levels and value in the critical spare parts and stores area.
Develops and implements plans to reduce stock critical parts and of all stored spared parts.
Takes actions to ensure accuracy and updating of all critical and spare parts.
Other tasks as assigned.


Proficient in using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, SAP.

Certification as required by craft (Maintenance Trade School)

5+ years experience as a Maintenance Planner at a manufacturing and/or oil refinery facility.

Experience as a Mechanic working in the field.



High School Diploma

Certification as required by craft (Maintenance Trade School and or Degree)
