Global Vice President of Procurement

Job Description

Reporting to Stepan’s Executive Vice President, Supply Chain, the Vice President of Global Procurement will have primary responsibility for the development and implementation of the vision, direction, and leadership of the company’s global procurement function. S/He will have direct accountability for indirect, direct and third part manufacturing spend and have ultimate responsibility developing sourcing strategies that leverages scale to maximize top and bottom-line growth and cash flow. S/He will lead the global strategic sourcing organization to drive competitive business strategies, maximize internal and external relationships, and minimizes risks across the enterprise. This role will come with a relocation package for those that are out of state.

Description and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of the Company’s business and supply chain strategy.
- Direct the global purchasing activities for the Company in a coordinated manner to provide maximum advantage to the Company, the lowest total cost of ownership and with appropriately managed risk.
- Build productive relationships with suppliers, customers, and other external players to advance the Company’s strategy and key tactics.
- Lead the development and application of advanced purchasing processes and techniques.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
 

Qualifications

  • 10 years of global leadership experience required.
  • Industry experience in chemical or oil & gas required.
  • Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to assess, view and develop a clear vision and strategy, at both global and local levels, and being able to manage and execute tasks toward its accomplishment.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work across borders, all disciplines and throughout all levels of the organization. 
  • Seeking a world class supply chain leader, strong leadership, talent management, change execution, and financial acumen.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and technical writing skills; effective group communication skills.
  • The successful candidate must bring a track record of significant accomplishments from companies known for best in class integrated procurement. 

Education

- B.S. in supply management, finance, business administration, or a related field.
