The Stepan Pasadena Plant has an opening for an MRI Engineer/Specialist

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Reliability and Integrity (MRI) Engineer/Specialist is to manage aspects of the plant’s Reliability Focused Maintenance Program to achieve reliability improvements. The incumbent will support the site team to achieve the desired performance objectives outlined by corporate initiatives, business unit initiatives, and local/site initiatives. This position reports to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager and partners with operations to prioritize tasks and optimize safety at the plant.


Responsibilities include:
•    Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment through the implementation of strategies for equipment reliability improvement working with the Operations and Maintenance organizations.
•    Manage aspects of the plant’s Reliability Focused Maintenance Program, leading team problem solving groups, and implementing activities related to Inspection Data Management. 
•    Uses KPI reports and SAP historical logs to identify areas of the process that are not performing satisfactorily and implement Asset Management Strategies to correct including proactive maintenance strategies, machine modifications, capital investment needs, changing operating procedures, etc.
•    Assist in the guidance, development, and execution of Mechanical Integrity activities including:
       A) Maintenance standards, work practices and guidelines
       B) Inspection tools and techniques with management of contract inspectors
       C) Spare Parts management 
       D) Bolts, torque, and fastener systems
•    Interface with equipment suppliers to improve overall equipment reliability

Qualifications

•    7-15 years of experience in manufacturing 
•    Hands-on field expertise
•    Team leadership skills
•    Small Project management skills (typically <$100k)
•    Project concept, premise, and economic justification development experience
•    Familiarity with Petrochemical processing industry equipment preferred

Education

•    Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred
