Quality Team Lead

The Team Leader is accountable for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of Quality of Products, Processes, Services and Lab functions and personnel in the testing of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished products and shipments according to Stepan specifications, regulatory requirements, and Quality best practices. 

  • Accountable for leading and supervising new hire required training to ensure adequate level of expertise. Ensures that all employees within QA/QC area are suitably trained in all aspects of quality, health, safety and environment to deliver appropriate overall performance. 
  • Lead and supervise management of the lab inventory, ordering lab chemical and supplies, and preparing standardized reagents. Aid in laboratory capital plan, ensure appropriate equipment is captured and prioritized accordingly.
  • Lead and supervise calibration, audits checks (daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly for all lab instruments and all lab instruments in plant. Sets up and services equipment to detailed specifications.  
  • Provides technical instrument support, primarily mechanical, across the site to ensure all instruments are in good working condition and correct OOC (out of calibration) adjustments as required. 
  • Provide leadership and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of quality results adherence to customer requirements (specifications) and International Standards Organization (ISO) standards. Ensure that HSE, Quality and GLP is a consideration within ISO procedures and work instruction. Review, update, change, delete, archive Quality and lab related ISO procedure, work instruction, posted documents, etc. within lab and production areas. 
  • Provide back-up and on-call support to Quality Manager as and when needed. 


Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience 
  •  Previous lab supervisory experience 
  • Understanding of quality philosophies, systems, analysis methods, tools, standards, reporting and demonstrates a theoretical understanding of laboratory operations, systems, methods, and regulatory compliance.


Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

Base Salary: Min: $73,644 - Max: $117,654
