Job Description

  • Drives the site-wide process to identify risks and significant impacts and to track and communicate this information in order to assist management in implementing actions to reduce the risks.
  • Tracks and communicates Federal, State and local regulations. Identifies impacts to the site and develops and implements actions to comply within the published deadlines.
  • Provides guidance and technical expertise on requirements of EHS&S regulations, keeping local management informed of legislative updates and the necessary actions to remain compliant, including potential impacts of pending rules.
  • Drives continuous improvement in EHS&S activities, programs, behaviors, and culture to reduce risk.
  • Lead development, implementation, and oversight of Environmental, Health and Safety Programs as assigned.
  • Provide guidance and technical support regarding Environmental, Health and Safety programs as assigned.
  • Maintains and improves the EHS&S Management System that drives performance (including reduction of risks, injuries, spills, releases, compliance events, natural resource and cost efficiencies).
  • Other EHS&S duties as assigned

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Corporate EHS&S policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting to authorities on all EHS&S requirements.
  • Identification of trends in incidents and near miss reports and ensures actions are completed to address root causes in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Develops and drives annual planning processes including: EHS&S Tactical Plans, Engagement Plans, capital projects, and people planning.
  • Ensures compliance of the site to OSHA/EPA/GA EPD, and other EHS and all regulations.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting to Corporate EHS&S, of progress on KPI’s
  • Responsible for site emergency plan, readiness of the ERT and emergency exercises and responding to site incidents.
  • Serve as the primary contact for governmental reporting agencies; and will assure that EHS and PSM requirements are clearly defined and adhered to by departmental managers. 

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding and experience (5 years minimum, 10 years preferred) of working in large scale industrial chemical process operations.
  • Good Communicator, both written and oral.
  • Good Analytical Skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office.

Education

  • Four-year degree in Environmental/Health/Safety OR equivalent experience. 5 years minimum (10 years preferred) experience in Environmental, Safety and Health.
