Job Description
LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Certify Hazardous Materials Shipping Documents to comply with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), International, and the Department of Transportation (DOT) policies and regulations.
- Staging material for loading ensuring proper bracing and blocking if required.
- Loading and unloading tanker trucks and railcars.
- Area cleanup.
- Other duties as assigned.
Materials and Equipment Directly Used
- Electric powered fork truck and yard tractor used for spotting trailers for loading.
- SAP (inventory management system), Computers, Microsoft software products, and any equipment unique to the department.
Working Environment
- Will be required to work shift work including weekends, and holidays.
- Working at heights (top of railcars, tanker trucks and tanks, etc.)
Physical Activities
- Will be required to climb upon railcars, tanker trucks, and climb stairs.
- Duties may involve working outdoors with a potential to exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
- Work will require lifting up to 55lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing and/or sitting.
- Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas.
- Prepare tanker & box trucks for shipments from plant.
- Ensure proper handling of production raw materials, including staging and loading.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- One year of related experience
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- Bulk truck and railcar loading and unloading experience is preferred
- DOT General Awareness training is preferred
