Job Description

 

LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN

  • Follow all safety requirements.
  • Certify Hazardous Materials Shipping Documents to comply with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), International, and the Department of Transportation (DOT) policies and regulations.
  • Staging material for loading ensuring proper bracing and blocking if required.
  • Loading and unloading tanker trucks and railcars.
  • Area cleanup.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used

  • Electric powered fork truck and yard tractor used for spotting trailers for loading.
  • SAP (inventory management system), Computers, Microsoft software products, and any equipment unique to the department.

Working Environment

  • Will be required to work shift work including weekends, and holidays.
  • Working at heights (top of railcars, tanker trucks and tanks, etc.)

Physical Activities

  • Will be required to climb upon railcars, tanker trucks, and climb stairs.
  • Duties may involve working outdoors with a potential to exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
  • Work will require lifting up to 55lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing and/or sitting.
  • Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas.
  • Prepare tanker & box trucks for shipments from plant.
  • Ensure proper handling of production raw materials, including staging and loading.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One year of related experience
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Bulk truck and railcar loading and unloading experience is preferred
  • DOT General Awareness training is preferred
