Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Job Description

 The PTD Maintenance E&I Technician provides electrical, electronic, mechanical, and technical support for a chemical facility. This position requires strong problem solving, negotiation, communication, and organization skills, with a personal initiative to partner with operations and engineering to implement improvements in a research and development environment.  Attention to detail and basic computer skills are required in order to document corrective actions.  This position supports day-to-day operations as a technical resource for solving maintenance reliability issues.  Individual must be able to work well in a team environment and provide training as directed by the Maintenance Manager.  This position also requires an individual who possesses critical thinking skills and one who is proactive and reliable to support the department’s objectives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform field calibration of process instrumentation

  • Design and complete the installation of new instrumentation, controls, and power (i.e., 4 – 20 mA, 120V, 480V 3 phase) wiring systems including conduit

  • Configure and program process instrumentation and VFD's

  • Perform chemical line breaks per procedures including flange joint assembly

  • Order necessary equipment, tools, replacement stock, and repair parts as needed 

 

Qualifications

  • 1 – 5 years experience required; ability to lift 50 pounds required
  • % of Travel (0-100%): 0-5%

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Technical/Associates Degree preferred
