Job Description

To be based out of one of our plants in Elwood, IL, Winder, GA or Pasadena, TX.

 

The Global Operations Environmental Manager will oversee all environmental aspects of our plants worldwide. This role involves working closely with plant Environmental Engineers and engaging with corporate EHS&S Environmental resources to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, drive sustainability initiatives, and promote best practices across all operations.


Key Responsibilities:
• Environmental Compliance: Ensure all plants comply with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement sustainability programs to reduce environmental impact, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water conservation.
• Policy Development: Create and update environmental policies and procedures to align with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
• Training and Development: Provide training and support to plant Environmental Engineers on environmental management systems and best practices.
• Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies and corporate EHS&S.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to address environmental concerns and promote sustainability.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate environmental risks associated with plant operations. 
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environmental performance across all plants.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in environmental management.
  • 5+ years in a global or multi-site role is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in environmental management software and tools.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time with international trips as required.
  • Comfortable working in office and plant environments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
