Logistics Planning Coordinator

Job Description
We are currently seeking a Logistics Planning Coordinator to work in our Millsdale Manufacturing facility located in Elwood, IL, a southern suburb of Chicago. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily logistics activities which include shipping, receiving, material planning, transportation scheduling and purchase order administration.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Direct Materials PO Creation & Execution of Processes and Procedures
- Establish standards, develop procedures and manage operations to ensure a disciplined approach to procure direct materials per local/regional and corporate agreements in an optimum manner to provide timely and efficient delivery of materials to meet production requirements to satisfy customer demand at the best TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
Materials Planning Strategy and Execution of Processes and Procedures
- Effectively utilize established materials planning processes and procedures to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials to meet production requirements to satisfy customer demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Inbound Direct Material Transportation Planning & Execution
- Effectively utilize transportation planning procedures, processes, analytics, metrics and standards to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials to meet production requirements to satisfy customer demand.
Rail and Warehouse Planning & Execution
- Effectively utilize rail and warehouse planning procedure, processes, analytics, metrics and standard to ensure seamless un-interrupted service of rail and warehouse operations to meet production requirements to satisfy customer demand.
Technology
- Utilize SAP, databases, and outside customer portals to support company operations and meet customer expectations.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3-5 years of administrative experience; 6-8 years preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Supply Chain experience a plus
• Knowledge of and proficiency with SAP required
• APICS-CIPM certified a plus
Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
