Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting production by analysing samples, providing adjustments to batches, certifying storage tanks, and other general lab duties.

•  Support lab operations as well as participating in workgroups and the quality processes.

•  Independently perform chemical and physical analyses and tests required for quality assurance of products or processes, draw conclusions based upon results, and provide product adjustments as needed.  Communicate timely results to production operators.

•  Troubleshoot analyses and equipment, communicate findings to supervision, contacts, and work with outside sources to correct.

•  Provide accurate and appropriate documentation of results, equipment maintenance, and calibration in laboratory logbooks, spreadsheets, LIMS NWA, and certificates of analysis, etc.

•  Perform routine responsibilities; approve incoming and outgoing material, disposal of samples, solution preparation, preparation of non-standardized reagents, and housekeeping functions including emptying buckets of sample waste and disposal of broken glass containers.

•  Actively participate in safety/waste programs, adhere to safety policies & standards, attend monthly safety meetings, and attend shift meetings.

•  Actively participate in Quality/ISO programs, adhere to Quality and ISO policies; contribute ideas and suggestions and attend scheduled meetings.

•  Participate in departmental and continuous process improvement workgroups; contribute ideas and suggestions for improving department infrastructure and work processes.

•  Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.

•  Participate and maintain compliance related activities including internal and external audits for applicable standards and certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal, RSPO, ISCC+ and others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry OR 1-5 years’ lab experience in a manufacturing environment with High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have technical knowledge associated with testing performed on site.

 

 

 

 

This position is an hourly position working 12-hour rotational shifts. Some weekends and holiday work is required.
