Job Description
The Maintenance Technician provides electrical, electronic, mechanical, and technical support for a chemical facility. This position requires strong problem solving, negotiation, communication, and organization skills, with a personal initiative to partner with operations and engineering to implement improvements in a research and development environment. Attention to detail and basic computer skills are required in order to document corrective actions. This position supports day-to-day operations as a technical resource for solving maintenance reliability issues. Individual must be able to work well in a team environment and provide training as directed by the Maintenance Manager. This position also requires an individual who possesses critical thinking skills and one who is proactive and reliable to support the department’s objectives.
• Perform assignments with moderate supervision, such as troubleshooting equipment, installing new assets, etc.
• Ability to gather, analyze, interpret relevant data
• Develop solutions to problems of limited scope and complicity using basic scientific knowledge with strong supervision.
• Ability to identify problems and communicate to supervisor
• Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving department infrastructure and work processes
• Develop a network of colleagues within ML to obtain data, procedures, and advice
• Communicate project results internally (to supervisor, project leader, requester, etc.)
• Participate in PTD safety/waste programs and steadfastly adheres to safety policies/standards
• Understand Stepan databases (SAP, CMMS, Lotus Notes) to retrieve fundamental data for projects
• Understand established Stepan work processes to complete projects (SOP, MOC, AFE, JSA, PSM, ISO etc.)
• Use available resources and databases to search technical info
• Enter and maintain accurate CMMS records
Qualifications
- 1-5+ years of relevant work experience
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Technical/Associates Degree preferred
Pay Range: $75,000 - $109,000
The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
