Production Leader

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The production team leader will perform operational, administrative, and logistical activities in support of the manufacturing of Stepan products and provide supervisory level leadership to indirect reports. The successful candidate will blend working knowledge and processes with an understanding of lean concepts in order to drive a culture of ownership and continuous improvement at the Millsdale Plant.

  • Manages all aspects of the production area’s performance – EH&S, quality, and reliability.
  • Provides direction and growth plans to an area production engineer, supervisor, and approximately 20 production operators.
  • Manages a multi-million-dollar controllable expense budget and is responsible for capital planning to assure alignment with business growth objectives.
  • Maintain reliable operations through investment in infrastructure.
  • Leads incident investigations (EH&S, Quality, or other), performs root cause analyses, and identifies appropriate corrective actions.
  • Interfaces and develop growth plans with several departments in the plant including EH&S, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Accounting, and Scheduling.
  • Provide effective interactions with the Business Teams and Supply Chain Groups in order to provide developmental tactical and strategic growth plans for the area.
  • Demonstrates an effective cost benefit decision-making ability.
  • Foster a team building environment.
  • Possess the ability to summarize data and present facts in a concise manner.

Participate and maintain compliance related activities including internal and external audits for applicable standards and certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal, RSPO, ISCC+ and others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing / chemical industry.
  • Preferred 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education

Pay Range: $77,300 - $123,500

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
