Reliability Manager

Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Reliability Manager to join our Millsdale team in Elwood, IL. . In this role, you will report to the Site Director. The Mechanical Integrity Manager (PSM) is responsible for overseeing the mechanical integrity program within the chemical plant, ensuring compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations, and maintaining the safety and reliability of all process equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for work processes ensuring the safe design/inspection/repair of plant equipment in line within internal and regulatory requirements (site and corporate policies/procedures) 
  • Develop and implement mechanical integrity programs in accordance with PSM standards and company policies.
  • Ensure that all direct employees and service contractors are suitably trained in all aspects of EHS&S to deliver appropriate EHS&S performance.
  • Ensure that the appropriate maintenance/process safety information is accurately maintained to provide compliance with regulatory requirements (PSM, RMP, SPCC, Air Permitting, etc.)
  • Responsible for the management of the Reliability Department to deliver a cost-effective reliability to the site
  • Align the Reliability Department with Production Areas to improve OEE, uptime and maintain compliance.
  • Provide training opportunities to the site with respect to equipment operation and reliability concepts.    
  • Promote Reliability practices throughout the site as they pertain to production and safety roles.
  • Oversee the design, fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance of process equipment to ensure safe and reliable performance.
  • Ensure the site is following QA/QC work processes for new fabrications and repairs for piping and fabricated equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical integrity, process safety management, or a similar role within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of PSM standards and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement mechanical integrity programs and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
     

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

 

Pay Range: $120,000 - $183,000
The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
