Senior Team Leader

The Senior Production Team Leader will manage a production area by leading and coordinating operational activities for EH&S, quality, cost/productivity. They will perform operational, administrative, and logistical activities in support of the manufacturing of Stepan products and provide supervisory level leadership to indirect reports. The successful candidate will blend working knowledge and processes with an understanding of lean concepts in order to drive a culture of ownership and continuous improvement at the Millsdale Plant. 

 

  • Manages all aspects of the production area’s performance – EH&S, quality, and reliability.
  • Manage, report on, and plan the area’s open EH&S and PSCA assignments for timely and effective closure.
  • Leads daily production meetings in the area and prioritizes efforts with EH&S, QA, Maintenance, PPIC and other service groups.
  • Utilizes tactical planning tools to target and track progress for key initiatives in the area.
  • Manages overall maintenance turnaround scopes and execution plans.
  • Responsible for tactical and strategic proposals around service level improvements.
  • Propose capital and expense budgets and cost/benefit analysis for expense and capital expenditures.
  • Participate in or lead incident investigations. Reviews and approves incident investigation findings and corrective.
  • Responsible for hourly performance management and development in the area –approximately 30 production operators.
  • Foster a team building environment.
  • Possess the ability to prioritize process improvement efforts in the area and for providing basic PFD for new processes.

Participate and maintain compliance related activities including internal and external audits for applicable standards and certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal, RSPO, ISCC+ and others.

Qualifications

Pay Range: $103,500 - $175,900

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ Years experience in Manfucaturing/ Chemical Industry
  • 5+ Years of Supervisory experience.
  • Developed communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to facilitate troubleshooting efforts and has solid comprehension of chemical processes and unit operations.
