Senior Process Engineer – Drive Innovation, Shape Scope, Lead with Freedom

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the process engineering lead on capital projects, guiding initiatives from feasibility through construction and start-up
  • Collaborate with a team of engineering professionals to implement an annual CAPEX budget of $35-50MM/year.
  • Utilize Front End Loading to define scope and evaluate engineering alternatives with a strong focus on technical feasibility and business impact
  • Develop critical technical deliverables to ensure cost-effective, safe, and innovative solutions that align with project goals, including:
  • Process/Engineering Flow Diagrams
  • Material and Energy Balances (M&EB's)
  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's)
  • Scope definition documents
  • Equipment and instrumentation process requirements
  • Lead plant commissioning and optimization efforts, driving improvements in cost, capacity, safety, and environmental efficiency
  • Be a key technical resource supporting plant operations, troubleshooting challenges, and developing solutions without heavy oversight
  • Identify and implement transformative ideas, collaborating closely with the Project Manager and plant teams to ensure success
  • Contribute to company-wide safety programs, strengthening the culture of safety and innovation

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in chemical or related industries
  • Strong expertise in process design, including distillation, mass transfer, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with Front End Loading and its application in capital projects
  • Sulfonation experience (desired, but not required)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (a plus)
  • Proven ability to manage external engineering resources, prioritize work, and maintain productivity

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required

Pay Range: $81,000 - $124,000

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
