Laboratory Technician

Job Description

The following list is non-exhaustive but contains the minimum requirements for the position of Laboratory Technician.  Commonly performed duties include:

Independently perform chemical, microbial, and physical analyses and tests required for quality control and assurance of products or processes, draw conclusions based upon results, and provide product adjustments as needed.  Communicate timely results to production operators.
Maintain and operate instrumentation and instrumentation support.
Perform testing using designated methods.
Ensure product meets all specifications prior to approval for shipment.
Provide accurate and appropriate documentation of results, equipment maintenance, and calibration in laboratory logbooks, SAP, Minitab, and certificates of analysis, etc.
Print Certificate of Analysis, and any associated shipping documents from SAP.
Maintain good lab housekeeping.
Support C-GMP, ISO9001/2000, QAS, SPC, SOP’s, and other quality programs.
Conduct Lab training as needed.
Provide support to technicians/operators on instrumentation and method questions.
Maintain reagents inventory, and assist laboratory manager, in purchasing lab chemicals and supplies when needed.
Maintain quality records as per corporate policy. Maintain areas of ISO compliance in laboratory.  Maintain and audit compliance program.
Tracking and disposition of rework by creating NCR and routinely conducting physical inventory of RIG.
Perform routine Micro analysis.
Other tasks as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience working in a manufacturing analytical lab setting
Computer skills:  Microsoft Office, SAP QM
Analytical equipment experience: HS-GCMS, GC, NIR-FTIR, Titrators, pH meters
Attention to detail, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
