Global Sr Procurement Financial Manager

Stepan Company is seeking a Global Sr Procurement Financial Manager to join our Procurement Center of Excellence team in Northbrook, IL. In this role, you will report to the Sr Manager – Global Procurement Center of Excellence. This position will lead the continuous improvement of global procurement analytic capabilities related to spend analytics, market intelligence, and compliance. This includes efforts in leading global procurement reporting of KPI’s and other such metrics, as well as partnering with Supply Chain and Finance Leadership to establish savings targets and verify performance. Special focus will be placed on continuously improving the department’s leverage of analytics to drive value through managing procurement technologies/platforms, data science, and utilization of market and economic intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Artificial Intelligence and Statistical Analysis Subject Matter Expert – Subject matter export on enhanced artificial intelligence through applying data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and utilizing prediction systems integrated with direct and indirect purchase. Drive cost savings identification opportunities through analyzing the data for trends and patterns, as well as interpreting the data with clear objectives in mind.
- Procurement Analytics Technology and Capability Roadmap – Manage the Procurement Analytics Technology and Capability Roadmap to ensure our analytics and tools are at the forefront for driving savings and efficiencies for the organization. This includes assessing and recommending technology and analytics to enhance our data. Emphasis will be placed on predictive and prescriptive analytics to meet the growing analytic needs of the business. This role will be responsible for participating in the RFP process and determining Total Cost of Ownership and Return on Investment.
- Procurement Analytic Technology, Software, and Databases – Manage all technologies, software, and databases used in Procurement Finance. This includes project managing technology implementations related to procurement analytics, as well as owning vendor relationships to ensure software KPI’s and other deliverables are achieved.
- Spend Analytics – Produce key Procurement analytics required for Board, Operating Committee, and Cost Excellence Meetings. Special emphasis is placed on processing, cleansing, and verifying data integrity. This includes enhancing the company’s data with third party external sources to identify how categories are performing versus the market and our internal goals.
- Procurement Performance & Savings Reporting – Own the process for reporting and validating Global Procurement’s saving pipeline, including communicating Cost Out and Cost Avoidance results.
Qualifications:
- 7 or more years of financial, supply chain, and/or procurement analyst experience.
- Strong statistical analysis experience with large datasets.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking.
- Technical skills with Machine Learning, PowerBI, Python, etc.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with managing software and/or processes.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance required.
- Masters Degree preferred.
