Sales Representative

Job Description

Stepan is seeking an Sales Representative to join our Rigid Polyol team in North America. In this role, you will report to the Rigid Polyol Commercial Director. This position will be responsible for profitable growth of Stepan's polymer business within the laminate, spray, and bunstock markets and working closely with existing customers and prospects toward their success. You will be responsible for developing customer sales strategies and executing against company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell Stepan products to both established customers and new prospects to deliver or exceed budgeted growth targets.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy for all customers.
  • Negotiate new contracts.
  • Identify attractive opportunities for Stepan and then develop and coordinate programs to convert these opportunities to new business.
  • Fulfill administrative responsibilities including accurate pricing, opportunity management and reporting of customer engagements.
  • Facilitate resolution to supply and delivery issues, when necessary.
  • Conduct appropriate customer follow-ups.
  • Solve customer problems.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communications along with strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Outstanding problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability work independently from a remote home office
  • Possess a high level of motivation, drive and initiative.
  • Candidates must have the interest and willingness to travel
  • Candidates with laminate or spray markets sales experience is a plus.
  • Required Experience: 1-3 minimum years of experience preferred In-depth product, application, and market knowledge.
  • Become an active member and participant in key industry trade organizations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; Science or Engineering preferred
