Job Description

The Procurement Senior Category Manager for Direct Materials is responsible for developing and executing complex and global procurement strategies to provide business-building innovation, assurance of supply, superior cost management, and uncompromising stewardship. This role involves managing a portfolio of direct materials, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for direct materials to achieve business objectives.
• Manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and deliver cost savings through commercial and technical project management.
• Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships with strategic suppliers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for procurement initiatives.
• Lead negotiations and manage contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Monitor market trends and conduct market intelligence to identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on direct materials.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Finance, Operations/Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
