Job Description
Stepan is seeking a Credit and Collections Lead to join our Corporate Finance team in Northbrook, IL. In this role, you will report to the Credit and Collections Supervisor. This role will be actively involved with ensuring customers remit payments to Stepan on-time, performing credit reviews for new and existing customers, establishing appropriate credit lines, assisting with customer dispute resolution, etc. This position will work closely with the A/R & Cash Applications, Customer Service and Commercial groups within Stepan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collections – ensure customers pay Stepan in accordance with approved payment terms. Perform appropriate follow-up on past due accounts.
• Credit Limit Reviews - review credit lines for existing accounts at established intervals.
• Dispute Resolution – investigate all deductions to understand the reason for the deduction. Resolve deductions via working with both the customer and internal Company employees.
• Internal Reporting – assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports.
• New Account Setup – establish credit lines for new accounts.
• Credit Holds – identify the root cause of orders that go on credit hold and follow-up to resolve with the appropriate employees.
Qualifications
• Five years of Credit and Collections experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to departmental success.
• Ability to prioritize, take initiative and resolve issues.
• Attention to detail and continuous process improvement mindset.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree
Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000
The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
