Senior SAP EHS Business Analyst

Job Description

The Senior SAP EHS Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting business needs, performing analysis and documentation, modeling processes, evaluating impacts, prioritizing business requests, and partnering with the project teams to ensure the successful delivery, support, and ongoing evolution of the SAP ERP platform for our organization. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Business Solutions.

  • Assess as-is processes and map them to new processes and/or business flows, leveraging SAP EHS best practices
  • Work closely with business teams, system integrators and stakeholders to understand needs, identify options and recommend solutions to optimize business processes related to SAP EHS
  • Develop expertise and serve as an SME for process and data discussions, workshops and analysis related to SAP EHS processes
  • Produce high quality documentation, including current-state analysis, future-state processes, workflows, data mappings, decision matrices, use cases, testing scenarios and full business requirements
  • Collaborate with project teams and business partners during project planning, software delivery reviews, and testing to ensure the software has been implemented according to specifications
  • Provide advice, troubleshooting and guidance for end user support; Identify areas for Automation of manual processes and data analytics reporting
  • Conduct meetings and deliver presentations
  • Monitor deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Act as the SME for the applications and process in the primary functional areas
  • Advise business teams on best practices to optimize processes during system transformations
  • Troubleshoot application issues and deliver effective resolutions
  • Mentor and coach others to aid in competency growth in systems and processes

Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ experience in SAP with emphasis on the EHS module which covers DG, SVT, SDS and GLM SAP EHS module full life cycle implementation experience; Chemical industry preferred
  • In-depth understanding of SAP EHS Configuration, Master Data, and Transaction data used in SAP EHS module
  • Proficient with WWI (developing and enhancing templates, server configuration, barcode library installations and coding in templates)
  • Experience with SAP ECC 6.0; S4HANA a plus
  • Strong demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams in a variety of co-located, virtual and hybrid configurations
  • Proficient in Process Flow Analysis and Diagrams
  • In-depth understanding and experience with 3E ERC upgrades
  • Experience in Expert Rules, Property Trees, Phases and Specification Database
  • Good understanding of SAP EHS processes associated with SD, MM, PP and GTS
  • Experience in Data conversion, LSMW, SAP Query, RICEF, etc.
  • Proven ability to create innovative solutions to solve complex business requirements, and streamline/automate business processes
  • Ability to build relationships, credibility and effectively engage with a variety of audiences across different levels of the organization
  • Sense of ownership with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Experience working for a global/international company preferred

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Engineering, Business or another related field.
