Job Description
Stepan is seeking a Senior Corporate QA Manager – Global Quality Audits and Risk Management to join our Corporate QA team in Northbrook. In this role, you will report to the Director of Global Quality Assurance. In this role, the candidate will be expected to develop and implement global quality audit policy, process and protocol that has actionable outputs, enhances quality across organization and creates a positive impact while meeting our needs. The candidate will also develop a system to measure the effectiveness of current and/or new audit management systems in meeting our internal and external customer expectations and refine our global quality assurance processes to improve the quality standards. In addition, the candidate will use the learnings from the audit to define criteria that identifies critical and systemic risks and to drive risk mitigations programs and reduce overall risk along with improving reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of Quality standards and related activities including internal and external audits for applicable standards and certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal, RSPO, ISCC PLUS and others
- Lead Stepan’s effort in Good Manufacturing Practices for Certifications mentioned above. Add GMP requirements into Stepan’s House of Quality Systems. Guide other resources for GMP audits and closure to open items needed for GMP audit acceptance. Lead standardization of processes identified for improvement. Team with Corporate ISO coordinator and plant ISO coordinators to drive global system procedures
- Develop formal audit plan and set into action auditing for Stepan House of Quality Standards. Collaborate with Stepan sites and other functions in corrective actions from external audits and drive a global standard from the resulting corrective action.
- Work with R&D to set equipment and testing standards for compliance activities. Drive to conclusion corrective actions at each site to reach newly formed standards. Set corporate policy around frequency of testing, validation, and compliance across the global network
- Partner with Microbial R&D and Product Development to set procedures for new product development around stability testing, efficacy testing and microbial monitoring for micro sensitive products.
- Team with Corporate QA, Production, and Logistics to drive Cleaning and Sanitization standards across the supply chain. This includes incoming raw material transport, raw material storage, process conditions, finished product storage, and shipping.
Qualifications
- 3-5 Years of experience in auditing preferred
- 3-5 years in chemical manufacturing
- Problem solving experience – Six sigma green belt desirable
- Project Management certification or experience preferred
- Leading Teams - globally
- Willing to travel – 25%
Education
- Bachelors degree in Sciences or Engineering required.
