Job Description

Stepan is seeking a strategic and experienced Total Rewards Program Manager to lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of compensation and benefits programs and initiatives. This individual will be responsible for managing enterprise-wide programs, ensuring compliance, driving operational efficiencies, and aligning total rewards strategies with business objectives and market best practices. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits programs, including health and welfare, retirement, leave, and other offerings.
  • Oversee compliance activities such as ERISA, ACA, FMLA, nondiscrimination testing, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with Legal and vendors to ensure global plan documentation, contracts, and practices are compliant and up-to-date.
  • Lead the internal and external Total Rewards program audits
  • Provide governance and vendor management support for global long-term incentive program, focusing on accurate administration, reporting and alignment with compensation strategy.

Program Management

  • Partner on the execution of compensation and benefits programs, including annual merit, bonus, open enrollment, retirement, recognition, equity administration, and wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinate across HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to deliver programs effectively, consistently, and in alignment with local regulations and employee needs.
  • Lead communication, training, and education efforts for HR teams and employees on total rewards programs, ensuring understanding and engagement across all regions

Strategy & Solutioning

  • Evaluate the effectiveness, competitiveness, and sustainability of compensation and benefits programs across the organization.
  • Manage, assess and benchmark competitive benefits, compensation, and rewards programs that strengthen the organization’s ability to attract and retain employees and deliver desired results to the organization
  • Work with key stakeholders to recommend and implement enhancements to improve cost efficiency, program impact, and employee engagement.
  • Lead key Compensation and Benefits projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including responsibility in both compensation and benefits.
  • Knowledge of equity-based compensation plans and their administration.
  • Strong understanding of domestic benefits regulations and trends.
  • Highly analytical, with experience in compensation modeling and benefits cost analysis.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and lead through change.

Education

•    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (certifications such as CCP, CBP, CEBS preferred).

 

Pay Range: $101,000 - $135,000

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
