Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

Job Description

The Stepan Pasadena Plant has an opening for a Millwright/Rotating Equipment Specialist.

The primary responsibility of the Millwright/Rotating Equipment Specialist is to provide support for the maintenance of plant rotating equipment.  This position is located in Pasadena, Texas. 

Responsibilities include:

• Performs the repair, installation, and maintenance of rotating equipment including, pumps, compressors, mixers, engines, motors, and related equipment. 
• Performs and provides oversight for rotating equipment component changes, such as seals, bearings, couplings, and other pump parts.
• Performs and/or provides oversight of various Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) Maintenance tasks and functions, including alignment checks, oil analysis, and vibration rounds as part of the condition monitoring program for mechanical equipment.
• Executes job assignments in accordance with the daily schedule as prepared by the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler. 
• Records measurements and data such as clearances and recommendations on log sheets and in the maintenance program.
• Executes and/or provides oversight of any emergency repair activity, as required.

Qualifications

• 7- 10 years experience as a Millwright or Journeyman Millwright.
• Experience with use of hand and power tools, feeler gauges, dial indicators, and bolting.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment best practices, standards, rigging, welding, and maintenance requirements such as technology specific installation, troubleshooting and PM/PdM activities.
• Ability to analyze, problem solve, and think strategically to solve equipment issues and determine root cause failures.
• Familiarity with Chemical processing industry equipment is preferred.

Education

• High school diploma /GED
