Field Sales Executive

Job Description

Stepan is currently seeking a remote Field Sales Executive to join our Consumer Goods Surfactants team. This role requires you to be located in the Eastern US region (IN, KY, MD, NC, OH, PA, TN, VA, WV) area. In this role, you will report to the Regional Sales Manager. Your responsibilities will be to drive results in sales performance, sell Stepan’s products to established customers and new prospects within the territory to meet or exceed annual goals. You will develop and implement sales strategies to key customers and distributors, negotiate new contracts and/or supply agreements. You will also identify attractive opportunities for Stepan and develop, coordinate and plan sales to pursue these opportunities.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with company growth objectives, while meeting or exceeding annual sales targets
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships with purchasing, technical, and decision-making stakeholders
  • Work closely with customer and internal R&D teams to support product selection and application needs
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends
  • Maintain accurate and timely Salesforce updates for customer meetings, opportunity pipeline management, and sales forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years relevant experience required, 3-5 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of Surfactants preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal and negotiating skills, proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships, works well independently (capable of working alone in a large geographic area), and in teams
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently from a remote home office and have high levels of motivation and initiative.
  • Outstanding problem solving, organizational, and excellent computer skills, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Salesforce, Power BI, SAP experience preferred
  • Willingness and Ability to travel as needed to perform duties assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required in a technical capacity such as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

 

Pay Range: $85,000 - $130,000

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
