Production Engineer

Job Description
The Production Engineer will provide technical support to a production area to assure stable operations and provide continuous improvement. This role is located at the Winder, GA site. We offer relocation for those that are relocating from out of state.
The main responsibilities for the Production Engineer role include:
• Provide and facilitate technical process and equipment troubleshooting solutions using sound analytical troubleshooting methods
• Participate in and provide technical support for Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations
• Responsible for utilizing statistical process methods to verify control of batch and continuous processes
• Responsible for proposing Preliminary Scope Reports (PSRs) for new processes or projects and collaborating with appropriate individuals for input
• Participate in capital project meetings from design to startup and assure effective operability of new processes
• Key participant in Area Quality Teams
• Responsible for monitoring quality of production processes on a daily basis
• Responsible for issuing timely NCRs and collaborating with the likes of QA, R&D, and the pilot plant for effective resolution of quality issues
• Exhibit and demonstrate a zero-tolerance mindset for quality deviations
• Responsible for utilizing SPC and SQC data as critical input to process changes for Quality
• Responsible for proposing, validating, communicating, and implementing process changes to address quality non-conformances
• Completes tasks associated with PCom or EPRs for new products/processes or changes to them
• Work with production team leader to develop effective and efficient solutions to open PSCA items
• Provide the technical review of process changes and issue thorough Management of Change documentation that includes timely PSSR completion
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses for new processes and is the lead technical representative for PHA revalidations
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Solid comprehension of chemical processes and unit operations
• Ability to facilitate troubleshooting efforts and team meetings
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
Education
- Bachelor of Science required in Chemical or related
- Preferred 3 + years’ experience in manufacturing setting preferably chemical
- Minimum internship or co-op experience required
